In order to clearly communicate its services and value to clients, Naperville computer information technology company Advocate Consulting has changed its name to Black | Line Consulting. Black | Line Consulting provides high quality and affordable technology services, products and support to 
small and mid-sized companies.
According to company president, Jody Jankovsky, the change reflects the company’s a focus on solving the technological problems of business to keep them profitable. The black line symbol is also reminiscent of a black line cursor blinking at the ready on a healthy computer.
“A black line in finance signifies profit. If a company is in the black, it is thriving,” said Jankovsky. “A blinking black line on a computer means that you are ready to go to work and your technology systems stand ready as a tool to help you run your business. If the black line is not available, your system may be in trouble and your business in crisis. That’s where we come in.”
Jankovsky said Black | Line Consulting believes that stability and profitability of information technology rests in attention to detail.
“The blinking black line on your computer is just one small detail in the system, but the absence of it is often reflective of a much bigger problem. We believe that attending to details, no matter how minute, means success for your IT system and your company,” said Jankovsky.
Jankovsky has been in the IT business since the age of 12, helping his father develop software out of their Bolingbrook garage. He continued with that work through high school and college and took on clients of his own as a college student at Illinois State University. When he wasn’t studying or practicing with the ISU soccer team, he was providing IT consulting services to a number of businesses back home.
“I would go to classes and practice soccer on week days and then travel home to
Bolingbrook to consult with several clients,” said Jankovsky. “I have always felt a strong sense of duty to my clients and understand that the smooth operation of their businesses often depends on my service and availability.”
Jankovsky said that 26 years in the IT industry has given him a thorough understanding of information technology and more than 20 years in business has taught him what clients need.
