on technology (IT) consulting firm that focuses on the needs of our customers. BLC has made it our mission to provide each of our clients with well-designed, high quality and affordable information technology products and services.
Our Founder
BLC’s history is closely aligned with the history of our founder—Jody Jankovsky. Jody began his career in information technology as a young 
student when a bad economy forced his father to turn to a career in software development. Working out of their Bolingbrook garage, Jody and his father tested software, wrote reports and developed IT solutions during his high school years while playing soccer and working in a local restaurant.
While attending Illinois State University, Jody paid his own way by starting a consulting firm-Jankovsky and Associates. He supported a number of clients and helped them solve their IT problems. Upon graduation, Jody joined Arthur Anderson while continuing his side consulting business.
When his day job didn’t allow Jody to establish a close enough relationship with his clients, he was not satisfied. He decided to make his consulting business a full time venture and started his firm Advocate Consulting-now Black | Line Consulting.
Our Growth
BLC started as a software development organization that helped client companies implement standard or customized software solutions. After the first few years of providing only software services, BLC recognized that many clients often needed a broader range of technology support that included the hardware and network infrastructure services. Early on BLC merged with a firm that provided that network support.
Jody has never made the mistake of thinking that he could do everything in his business by himself. To that end, BLC has grown over the years as Jody surrounded himself with a growing team of managers and technicians who shared his vision of offering clients, well-designed, high-quality and affordable IT products and services.
Our Focus
