To give you an idea of specific problems we have come across, and how we solved them, we present our “Case Study” series. These posts will give you an idea of how custom software and integration can help your business succeed.
Aqua-Gon Inc., an independent wholesale pool and spa distributor in the Midwest, has been meeting customers’ needs since 1965. Aqua-Gon also provides services to pool and spa professionals. They desired a redesigned website which would have increased functionality over their current site. They were seeking a site with updated marketing, Microsoft Dynamics NAV integration and ease of use for dealers. How could we build a custom website with significantly improved functionality that simplified the ordering process for dealers?
Our Solution: We put together a plan for a site redesign that would address their current issues and translate Aqua-Gon’s commitment to customer and client satisfaction to their online hub. BLC helped redesign the home, “About Us,” vendor, and login pages, including the security technology necessary for the dealer logins.
In order to make the site more user-friendly for dealers, BLC introduced a product search function that would allow dealers to look up specific products and their availability, selection and quantity. BLC constructed a shopping cart system so dealers can load the shopping cart, create orders and notes, and create sales orders with all information integrated into their Microsoft NAV software. Additionally, instead of only having access to the full ordering process, the system includes a modified process for a dealer to check inventory and submit an order “Request”. The new site also creates a log of order history and open AR.
Content Management: To maintain a secure website BLC set up the site to give Aqua-Gon the ability to adjust dealer site rights and security, manage their home page and vendor information content. This gives Aqua-Gon control over what customers and dealers see when they visit the site.
Database Integration: NAV data sync was established using SSIS technology to provide regular data transfer between the live NAV system and the web database. It also allows for sales order xml generation to import into the NAV system. Now Aqua-Gon’s online and offline systems are better integrated.
“Aqua-Gon Inc. is a small B2B company built on customer service. As our customers’ buying habits evolved, we realized we can serve them better by improving our on-line presence. Black | Line Consulting was able to design a website that gave our dealers access to important information and the ability to place orders securely. We continue to make improvements and Black | Line’s expertise and responsiveness are invaluable to the success of this effort.”
