  • Case Study: Inventory Management System

To give you an idea of specific problems we have come across, and how we solved them, we present our “Case Study” series. These posts will give you an idea of how custom software and integration can help your business succeed.

Advantage Material Handling, Inc. (AMH) is a leading international wholesaler, specializing in quality used material handling equipment. AMH buys, sells and appraises a comprehensive inventory of all makes and models of forklifts, narrow aisle and aerial equipment

Question: Since its inception, AMH has been successfully utilizing a CRM/Inventory Management system based on the vTiger product.  While this solution has been adequate for AMH’s operation, it was lacking the more robust tasks necessary as AMH continued to grow. The current system was slow and the process of finding inventory data was tedious and inefficient.  Therefore AMH decided to build a more robust Inventory Management System to address the shortcomings of the current system. How could we create a more powerful Inventory Management System?

Answer: Black Line Consulting (BLC) worked closely with AMH and designed a Web Application that took the best of AMH’s current solution and added features to improve the speed and accuracy of inventory searches.  In addition, the underlying technology the new inventory system will provide more advanced features and capabilities to further improve the sales process and getting information distributed to the potential customers.

Recently, upgrades to the Inventory Management System were completed through the Black Line Software Maintenance program, an affordable and flexible way to address an organization’s software needs. These upgrades improved the user interface, making routine tasks even more efficient.
